Tower Bridge

Tonight was the 2nd London Photowalk of the week following the highly successful evening in the St Pauls area. This time we set off from Liverpool Street and down past the Gherkin and onto the Tower of London. We spent around 30mins photographing the Tower before moving down to the river Thames for some long exposure shots of Tower Bridge.

Once we’d finished at the Tower, we moved onto Tower bridge to photograph it from the north side and some long exposures on the bridge itself although with heavy traffic we didn’t get great results. We had much more luck on the south side of the river with long-distance shots of the Tower bridge itself, where I drew quite a crowd of tourist setting up my lensball.

The weather was kind to start the evening, but it eventually turned damp with very fine rain to finish the evening by this time we’d completed the loop from Tower bridge -> London Bridge and back to Towergateway station where we went our ways home.

Little did we know that 36 hrs later there was to be a terrorist attack on London bridge in the same spot we’d stood.

Above is one of my favourite shots of the night which I had to dodge the rain to get, I hope you like it.
